Handmade vs mass-produced bags: what you are actually paying for

A mass-produced printed tote is cut and sewn in minutes from screen-printed cloth. A hand block printed tote takes a carved block per color, several passes across the cloth, a wash, a sun dry and a quilting stage.

How they age

Screen prints sit on the surface and crack. Block prints sink into the fibre and soften. Natural dyes deepen instead of fading flat.

Small batch

Our runs are limited by how much cloth a printer completes in a session, which is why colorways rotate. Read more in why small batch matters.
