The print table is the first thing to wake up. By seven the dye trays are mixed, the cloth is pinned and the room falls into the steady knock of block against cotton.
Six pairs of hands
A single tote passes through printing, washing, drying, quilting, stitching and finishing — six stations, all in one building, all within a few metres of each other.
Why proximity matters
When the quilter can walk to the printer, mistakes are caught in minutes rather than shipments. It is slower on paper and far faster in practice.
